THE BRIEF

This film produced for FilmAid by Chivas Regal was used at the Cannes Film Festival during the press conference to announce that Cuba Gooding Jr was joining FilmAid’s Global Artist Council alongside stars such as Robert De Niro, Susan Sarandon and Steven Soderbergh.

The initial brief was simply to edit existing footage from a range of different sources. We explained that the result was unlikely to be of the quality they wanted. But once we explained that we would be able to re-work that budget in a way that allowed us to shoot for 3 days in Kakuma, Kenya the client was pretty quick to give the green light.

Although an unusual example of the genre, the interviews and cutaways kind of film is effectively corporate video and one of the reasons this was so successful is that we stuck to the principles of high quality corporate video that we’ve laid down.

Fun Fact: The director and cinematographer on this project, Ed Moore, is now one of the leading cinematographers in UK drama.
